I am a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals. My main practise involves perioperative care for adult patients undergoing major elective surgery (vascular, upper gastrointestinal, orthopaedic, colorectal, urological, hepatopancreaticobiliary etc). I am the co-lead for the Surgical Enhanced Care Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where we care for adult patients who underwent major elective surgery until they are well enough to step down to a ward facility. I am also a Principal Investigator for several national research studies. My aim is to make your anaesthetic care and perioperative journey as uneventful as possible, working with colleagues to get you home and on the way to recovery soonest

About me
I qualified in South Africa and completed my specialist training in Cape Town, South Africa in 2012. Upon completion of my training, I took part in a research expedition to Everest Base Camp followed by some time working in Afghanistan for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). This was followed by fellowships in Ireland and the UK in both anaesthesia and critical care medicine. I took up my consultant post at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in 2017 and have been in private practice since 2019.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family - be it traveling, the outdoors or just reading them a story. I have run a few marathons, and dream of completing an Ironman one day.
